About Us
St. John's operates the largest shelter in Sacramento County, and the only one focused exclusively on homeless mothers and their children. But our program goes far beyond providing just food and shelter. Through our mental health services, GED tutoring and testing, and on-the-job training, we provide the ability to rise above devastating, negative elements and achieve job-readiness and self-sustainability. Entry into our program is limited, and each step is extremely rigorous. But those who see it through end up with rewarding, happy, and productive lives - for themselves and for their children.
