CIR is a nation-wide, progressive, rank and file healthcare union which represents 12,000 resident physician members in private and public hospitals. Founded in 1957, CIR has a tradition of fighting both for the workplace rights of resident physicians and for universal access to quality healthcare. CIR is a national affiliate of the Service Employees International Union.
