  • About Us

    Manatee Literacy Council is a volunteer-based nonprofit community organization dedicated to increasing the level of the functional literacy of adults in Manatee County through teaching the skills of reading, writing, understanding, and speaking English.

    We offer free one-on-one tutoring, small group classes, conversation classes to residents of Manatee County. We also offer workplace literacy classes to the community. The majority of our learners are English Second Language leaners (ESL).

    Manatee Literacy Council has served the community since 1978.
