  • About Us

The District of Columbia chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness is, like its parent, a non-profit advocacy organization for the mentally ill. We are expanding services offered by the chapter, and are recruiting volunteers who can train to become presenters for our award-winning "In Our Own Voices" program, through which those who live with mental illness can share their experience with members of the community so as to raise awareness about - and dispel the myths surrounding - mental illness. NAMI DC also leads a support group and works closely with similar advocacy organizations in Washington.
