  • About Us

Temple Chaverim is a Reform congregation of 547 member families located on the border of Nassau & Suffolk counties on Long Island and serves, primarily, the communities of Plainview, Old Bethpage, Woodbury, Syosset, Jericho, Dix Hills and Melville. We have been in our magnificent facility for thirteen years, having begun our community's journey some 30 years ago as a chavurah in members' homes, then in a church, then in the Y/JCC before planting our permanent roots in the community. Temple Chaverim is known throughout the community as "a temple of friends," with personable clergy and committed and caring leadership. Our bar/bat mitzvah experience, religious school, teen engagement initiatives, lifelong learning opportunities and intimate and inspiring worship style are highlights of our congregation.
