Blue Sphere Foundation (BSF) is committed to safeguarding the world’s oceans, by halting the destruction of threatened marine species and habitats. We go where there are urgent threats and critical resource gaps, and work quickly to establish the necessary groundwork for others to join in. We believe art and media are essential tools to spark curiosity and inspire action, and it is therefore an integral part of everything we do. In 2015, the Oscar-nominated film Racing Extinction, premiered at Sundance Film Festival and on Discovery worldwide, and became one of the most watched documentaries in history. Shawn Heinrichs, Founder of BSF, was a lead character in the film, which depicts the devastating consequences of climate change and the illegal wildlife trade on our oceans.
