Welcome to Show Low High School, home of the Cougars! We serve nearly 800 ninth through twelfth grade students in the White Mountains of Arizona and are excited to connect with you. Please take some time to get to know our school and staff.
We offer a wide variety of clubs, fine arts, and athletics programs to our students, and we take pride in preparing our graduates for life after high school.
It is our vision to become a school where all students would go to learn, even if they didn’t have to. We believe that this force-free approach to student attendance, involvement, and learning is the key to student performance and school success.
In order for this vision to become a reality, we invite our students to commit to being “all in.” This “all in” movement has four simple, yet powerful, components:
In Class | Invested | Involved | Independent
We believe that if our students commit to these four components they will be successful students in high school and will develop skills for success through their futures as well.
Furthermore, to help create an academic culture focused on learning, we have adopted and formed an evidence-based system of grading commonly referred to as standards based grading. This form of grading places complete emphasis on the mastery of course standards while providing students with clear expectations, quality feedback, and opportunities to assess or reassess in a method suitable to their learning styles.
We are confident that Show Low High School is a place where all students would go to learn even if they didn’t have to and that they will graduate with the skills and knowledge to build strong families, communities, and work places.
Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
