    Formed in 1985, the Georgia Food Bank Association is an association serving the seven food banks that are members of the Feeding America network. These seven food banks include: Atlanta Community Food Bank, Golden Harvest Food Bank, America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia, Feeding the Valley Food Bank, Middle Georgia Community Food Bank, America’s Second Harvest of South Georgia, Inc, Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. The purpose of the organization is to support its members as they secure and distribute food that is distributed free of charge through direct service and distribution through partner organizations to people in need, including the elderly and minor children.
