The Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company’s (BTJ/AZ) mission is “To support Bill T. Jones’ efforts to make and perform his work, explore his creative ideas, teach others his dance vocabulary and style, and remember the influence of Arnie Zane.” The Company remains centered on certain core values: 1) an inherent pleasure in diversity – of physical types, of experience, of modes of expression; 2) an interest in ambiguity and paradox; 3) a willingness to challenge and confront; 4) a profound commitment to the value of art as a catalyst for individual reflection and action.
