  • About Us

EDCO Collaborative is home to two educational programs for Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers and their families.

The Massachusetts Migrant Education Program is an EDCO Collaborative operated, state administered federally funded program that serves children of migratory agricultural workers and fishers. EDCO staff members visit local farms and processing plants to identify and recruit eligible migratory children. Advocacy and outreach, interpreting, ESL (English as a Second Language), family literacy, parent empowerment workshops and preschool services are provided. A six-week summer program for children pre-school through 12th grade provides extended academic learning in language arts and math, health screenings and nutritional meals in locations throughout the state.

The New England High School Equivalency Program (HEP) helps migratory and seasonal farmworkers who are 16 years of age or older and not currently enrolled in school to obtain the equivalent of a high school diploma and, subsequently, to gain employment or begin postsecondary education or training. The New England HEP serves Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers residing in Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
