About Us
Health Comes First (HCF) is a BIPOC youth-led grassroots group that builds student power and agitates for change in Boston Public Schools. We draw upon the arts, storytelling, and grassroots organizing to uplift the voices of young people. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our work has uplifted student voice and established democratic structures for mental health support during the school day. We believe Health Comes First to be a refuge and model in ways that our homes, schools, and other institutions may not be. It is in this mission that we believe that we can be radical about the ways in which we practice support, care, and love for one another.
