  • About Us

Northwestern University's National High School Institute, commonly known as the "Cherubs" program dates back to 1931 and is made up of four summer Institutes: Theatre Arts, Film & Video, Playwriting and Debate. These programs combine intensive training, along with a once-in-a-lifetime summer experience to make lifelong friends and contacts, while exploring the Northwestern campus and Chicago. The Theatre Arts program is open exclusively to current high school juniors; our Film & Video program and Playwriting Program are open to current sophomores and juniors; and our Debate programs are open to current freshman, sophomores, and juniors.
