  • About Us

Love Heals was founded in 1992 to carry on the work of the late AIDS activist Alison Gertz. Love Heals' mission is to empower young people in New York City and elsewhere to make informed choices by educating them about and increasing their awareness of HIV/AIDS.

Love Heals operates a Speakers Bureau made up of HIV-positive speakers and trained health educators who visit schools and community groups to reach both young people and those individuals who impact their lives. The organization also creates and distributes educational materials, shares its expertise, and advocates for young people's right to HIV/AIDS education. Love Heals strives to do this in a diverse, nonjudgmental atmosphere, with a special emphasis on outreach to high-risk communities.
