    Volunteers of America is one of the nation’s oldest, largest, most diverse and most effective non-profit human service agencies. All Volunteers of America programs are designed to help those who strive for self-sufficiency.

    Volunteers of America of Pennsylvania was established in 1906. We have affiliates in Wilkes-Barre, Allentown, Philadelphia, and Harrisburg. We have a great variety of services designed to help those most in need.

    Our Programs include: 2 thrift stores, a child development center, an adult literacy program, foster care, transitional living for homeless adolescents, transportation for elderly and handicapped, affordable housing for adults with chronic mental illness, crisis pregnancy counseling, adoption services, volunteer caregivers and many others.
