The Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program at Shelter Rock is a unique organization within the philanthropic sector. While Veatch is a program of a Unitarian Universalist congregation located on Long Island, its philanthropic giving is nationwide and broad in scope. With a staff of 8, the Veatch Program provides long term, core support for community organizing and civic engagement non-profits throughout the United States. Veatch’s $12 million grant portfolio supports over 180 grantees. The Unitarian Universalist Veatch Program at Shelter Rock provides support for efforts within the religious and spiritual mission of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock where their purposes are best served by outside agencies acting under the Veatch Program and the Congregation. A program of faith in action, Veatch has been a leader in progressive philanthropy since 1959.
