About Us
To revivive the cultivation, production and use of Natural Indigo and other Dyes in textiles and other products in regions of South Asia where these were in common use, not only in traditional crafts but also in commercial production. A growing concern for the environment, increasing awareness of the urgent need to protect it and the desire to contribute towards stemming and hopefully reversing its alarmingly rapid deterioration resulted in our small but determined beginning, a pilot project initiated three years ago.It is now formalised as Rungg, a natural dyes revival organisation. Whereas beginning with other dyes would have been easier, it has been a challenging experience to start with Indigo.Now,encouraged and extremely excited with the pilot project, we are looking for funds to expand for training in cultivation and processing and for market development.
