Mission
The purpose of Cooperative Production is to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and brain injuries as valued members of their communities, with opportunities for meaningful participation in areas of personal pursuit.
To carry out this mission, Cooperative Production provides or facilitates services that:
- Acknowledge and build upon an individual’s strengths, interests, and cultural experiences;
- Assist in the development of skills that promote community presence and participation;
- Provide meaningful opportunities for education, employment, recreation, volunteerism, and other enrichment activities;
- Support diverse and valued social relationships among people of all ages and abilities
- Encourage collaboration with other organizations and individuals in support of these values.

About Us
Cooperative Production is a non-profit organization in Southeastern Massachusetts that has supported individuals with brain injuries and intellectual, developmental, physical, and other disabilities since 1972. We provide a variety of services and supports designed to encourage community involvement and valued lifestyles. Approximately 300 local citizens and their families participate in our various programs, including residential services, supervised living arrangements, employment, day habilitation, community day services, physical, occupational, and speech therapies, clinical and behavioral support, medical oversight, and assistive technology. Our mission is to help people with disabilities gain full presence and participation in community life by:
- establishing services based on individual preferences and needs within integrated community settings
- assisting in the development of skills to enrich community living
- providing opportunities and training for meaningful employment
- establishing opportunities for valued social relationships
- developing a spirit of autonomy
- eliminating barriers between the individual and their community
- eliminating barriers in the delivery of services
- promoting dignity and ensuring rights
