    Since 1981, the Fuel Fund of Maryland has provided financial assistance to a household who is experiencing a utility hardship (power disconnect or impending turn off notice). 

    Financial assistance is based on a sliding scale. Hardship programs include: Silver Lights (seniors), Power of One (single parent households), Stars & Stripes (active/former miliary and first responders) as well as traditional programming support.
