  • About Us

The Metroplex Food Bank is an independant 501(c)(3)charitable organization dedicated to feeding the poor. We are not federally funded or a United Way associate. We rely on corporations, foundations, churches and individual donations. We maintain a 35,000.sq ft donated warehouse where we distribute food to other non-profit organizations and directly to families. Our organization was established in 1982 and has grown from a small soup kitchen into a food bank that distributes to Texas, Arkansas, California, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Mexico. We also participate in natural disaster relief. In 1998 we distributed 17 1/2 million pounds of food on a meger budget and a staff of only four. We believe in and operate by good stewardship and accountability in our organization. Please visit us at www.food-bank.org or email us at metroplex@food-bank.org
