Merck Forest and Farmland Center is an educational non-profit that teaches the public about the sustainable use of forest and farmland through demonstration, research and year-round experiential learning opportunities for youth and adults. Merck is located on 3,100 acres in Vermont’s Taconic range and includes a working forest, a certified-organic sugaring operation and a 60-acre organic farm that specializes in land stewardship and grass based meat production. Merck also offers more than 30 miles of recreational trails for hiking, horseback riding, snowshoeing, skiing and also has rustic backcountry cabins for camping.
