  • About Us

    ART THERAPY INSTITUTE (ATI)

    Mission Statement

To advance the well-being and mental health of diverse communities through accessible, strengths-based, culturally-responsive art therapy, education, and research.

    Vision Statement

Effective, accessible, and culturally-responsive arts-based mental health care for all who desire it.

    Key Beliefs/Core Values

Continuous Quality Improvement – ATI’s ongoing effort to improve services and internal practices is based on a shared understanding of quality, clear measurements of effectiveness and systematic efforts to learn from its experience and the experience of others.

Respect – ATI respects the essential dignity and value of each individual by treating everyone – and the artwork that they create – with compassion, care and courtesy.

Maximize Individual, Familial, and Community Potential – ATI serves and advocates for clients, families, and larger groups/communities to help them maximize their potential and reach both individual and shared goals. ATI recognizes that the processes of learning and development can be messy. ATI clinicians are prepared – and excited – to work within this mess, acknowledging, actively participating in, and creating within complex situations.

Supportive Environment – ATI supports an environment where people can share ideas and information freely to foster creativity, communication, and collaboration.

Integrity – ATI acts with integrity, treating people consistently, honestly, and equitably to help them achieve their goals. Integrity calls for taking actions that are in keeping with the standards and values of ATI.
