  • About Us

Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is a nonprofit volunteer-based organization that reaches out to elderly living in Chicago who are growing old without support from family or friends. Our goal is to relieve elderly isolation and loneliness through one on one visiting by staff and volunteers; to celebrate life with the elderly in various group events; to advocate and collaborate on their behalf with other organizations; and to accompany them to the end of their lives. Our motto, flowers before bread, expresses our philosophy that people need the special pleasures in life in addition to the basic necessities. Love, dignity and beauty in life are as essential to life as physical needs.
