Adkins Arboretum is dedicated to the appreciation, understanding, and stewardship of the indigenous, native plant communities of the Chesapeake Mid-Atlatnic Coastal Plain . It strives to maintain a diverse and dynamic living collection that is authentic, engaging and a model for land management. The Arboretum reaches beyond its borders to address conservation needs of the region. As a significant cultural, educational, and recreational resource, the Arboretum fosters civic pride, encourages public dialogue, and contributes to the economic vitality of the region.
