At Kinfolk Tech Foundation, we're much more than a tech company. We're a close-knit team of visionaries, dedicated to making technology accessible, celebrating our collective histories, and inspiring equity through visibility of the monumental figures who came before us - our Kinfolk. We're an augmented reality archive of Black and Brown history, committed to recentering and affirming the lived histories of historically excluded peoples through extended reality technologies. Our mission is not just to share these stories, but to empower individuals, communities, and society at large to enact positive change.
Kinfolk's mission is to harness emerging technologies to empower stories of Black, Brown, and Queer communities in public spaces through imagination and play. Kinfolk believes that the key to our society’s preparedness for meaningful steps toward racial equity lies in the undoing of the centuries-long dehumanization process that is at the core of our country’s collective narratives. In short, we need new stories. The answers exist in our ancestral archive.
Without truly understanding our past, we can not move equitably into the future. Kinfolk is creating a technological infrastructure that allows historical narratives to create systemic change across the country.
