About Us
La Colmena is a community-based nonprofit organization working with day laborers, domestic workers, and other low-wage immigrant workers in Staten Island through organizing, education, culture, and economic development. La Colmena operates a community job center that facilitates the encounter between day laborers and potential employers as we ensure healthy working conditions and dignified wages. We offer access to health and safety trainings, ESOL classes, Know Your Rights workshops, legal clinics, youth development, LGBTQIA LatinX organizing, Worker Owned Co-op Business incubation and referrals to critical services. We are located in Port Richmond, Staten Island
