About Us
To advance policies, programs, and solutions in Shelby County and the State of Tennessee that broaden access to justice, strengthen the right to counsel, and mitigate the damage caused to families and neighborhoods as a result of contact with the criminal justice system. The ultimate mission of Just City is to create a smaller, fairer, and more humane criminal justice system - one that does not reserve justice for the wealthy. To do this, we pursue legislation at the state level that lowers or altogether removes barriers to freedom that are rooted in economic prejudice.
