These resources are used to support publications of books and periodicals, lectures, academic seminars, and exhibitions. The Society has an active loan exhibition program, which helps other institution display coins and medals. Its publication program, which has been active since 1866, is one of the largest and prestigious in the world, while its Graduate Summer Seminar Program has taught numismatics to hundreds of prominent archaeologists and historians. Its staff is comprised for various international scholars and a small administrative staff.
