Community HousingWorks, a nationally recognized nonprofit, helps people and neighborhoods move up in the world by providing a full range of housing options combined with training and support services.
We build and own beautiful affordable apartment communities, offer hundreds of unique first-time homebuyer loans, and provide services and training that strengthen communities and help 4,000 kids and adults each year build a wealthier future.
Volunteer Oppertunities:
Inspire a child-Read to Them!!! Running Readers is an after-school reading enhancement program designed to ignite a passion for reading in k-3rd grade students. Volunteers will work with a small group of children introducing them to enriching literature through read alouds, interactive activities and more! Be ready to laugh, have fun and make a difference in the life of a child. Training & curriculum provided. Volunteer tutors also needed. Register to volunteer at www.chworks.org Locations: Poway, San Diego, Escondido, Oceanside, Vista, Carlsbad, Fallbrook, and Lakeside Learning Centers.
