Last Mile's COVID Straight Talk Lab

COVID Straight Talk (CST) Lab is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with labor unions and worker centers to fight for COVID-19 safety in the workplace. We work with the communities most impacted by the pandemic to make their workplaces more COVID-19 safe via legislative and labor organizing campaigns. We highlight the significance of aerosol and airborne transmission, the importance of improving indoor air quality, and the voices of essential workers about their experiences on the front lines. We believe that, just like food and water, people have a right to clean air. Air ventilation isn't just a technical matter, it's a workplace equity issue. Improving air ventilation is one of the most important ways as a country we can reduce the risk essential workers face, who are disproportionately BIPOC folks, of contracting COVID-19 at work. CST Lab amplifies data around the disparity and inequity caused by the pandemic as this information will help unions, worker groups and others further their political advocacy to address how COVID-19 has disproportionately impacted communities of color.
