About Us
Culture For One’s mission is to inspire New York City children living in foster care by providing cultural experiences and exposure to a broader world. Access to the arts, rarely available to youth in foster care, is a vital means of stimulating a child’s intellectual development and curiosity. Our purpose is to enrich their lives and improve their futures.
We use the arts as a vehicle to connect with these children, motivate them, widen their view of what is possible for them to achieve, and stimulate their aspirations. In conjunction with the art experiences we provide, we also introduce them to caring adults who provide encouragement and serve as positive role models.
We believe that these opportunities are key to the future success of youth in foster care and can change their trajectory forever.
