  • About Us

Women for Women International (WfWI) provides women survivors of war, civil strife, and other conflicts with the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency, thereby promoting viable peaceful societies. We do this through a multi-layered core program of direct aid and emotional support, rights-based education, and economic development.

The organization was founded in 1993 and has benefited more than one million people, helping over 195,000 women survivors of war to move towards economic self-reliance and distributing over $79 million in direct aid and micro-credit loans. WfWI currently has offices in the US and the UK to support field operations in: Afghanistan, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Sudan.
