  • About Us

The YWCA St. Paul has been improving the quality of life of the people in its community for close to a century. In 1907, over 1,000 women from throughout St. Paul came together to form an organization that would provide “physical, intellectual, social and religious uplift to the young women of the city.” These women gathered at the House of Hope Presbyterian Church to approve the petition to form the Young Women’s Christian Association of St. Paul. While the YWCA’s programs & services have changed over the years to meet the evolving needs of the community, our mission has remained steadfast. The YWCA serves to eliminate racism and empower women.
