The South American Explorers (SAE) is a non-profit organization that promotes culturally aware and environmentally conscious travel and living in South America. Since 1977, the SAE has collected the knowledge and experience of researchers, explorers, students, and travelers from all over the world to become one of the leading sources of information about Latin America. With clubhouses in Cusco, Lima, Quito and Buenos Aires, members traveling through South America can use the SAE as a base to plan their activities and network with travelers and locals. The organization also helps promote academic research, cultural exploration, and conservation projects in Latin America. SAE also boasts an extensive database of volunteer opportunities throughout Latin America.
