  • About Us

Diar means women in Dinka - the language of our founder. Our mission is to strengthen the world's most vulnerable women through education, farming, small businesses, and supportive networks.

Diar Foundation works toward a world where all women have a voice, have choices and are able to realize their full potential.  Our organization works to strengthen women in East Africa by providing job skills and farming training to women whose lives have been ravaged by war, poverty, and violence.

Our efforts in Africa began in a refugee camp in Sudan in 2003.  Since that time, Diar has worked with tens of thousands of women and children in South Sudan and Uganda, providing critical skills and resources.  Our presence in the United States began in 2013 with the creation of Diar Foundation to support the existing programs in Africa.
