The Evergreen State College's Master of Public Administration program in Olympia, WA (www.evergreen.edu/mpa) provides high-quality professional education to students pursuing careers within government agencies, tribal government, and nonprofit organizations involved with public issues. We are committed to creating vibrant learning communities that: prepare students to seek democratic, equitable and practical solutions to public problems; embed issues of social justice, social change and democratic governance throughout our program; and develop leaders who think analytically, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively as they strive to make a difference in public service.

Other key points about the Evergreen MPA program:

+ Students, faculty and staff create a learning community together: students move through the program with their cohort, forming strong relationships that continue after they graduate; faculty work closely with students and often work in interdisciplinary faculty teams; and all courses include seminars and/or small group work. + All courses are offered on evenings and weekends AND you can attend part-time or full-time, so you can "keep your day job" while you complete your degree. + Three (3) concentrations to choose from: Non-Profit/Public Admin; Public Policy; Tribal Governance (only program of its kind in the US). + We use narrative evaluations instead of grades, which include detailed faculty assessment and student self-assessment. + Because we are located in Olympia, the state capital, legislators and managers of state agencies and local non-profits frequently teach MPA courses and our graduates often find employment with state agencies, non-profits and the Legislature.
