About Us
Grow Ohio Valley is a vertically-integrated nonprofit food enterprise. We operate a food hub that connects small-scale farmers to large-scale buyers and our innovative retail outlets. We support that food hub with intensive organic agriculture (urban farms), and long-term education (garden/kitchen skills).
Our mission is to build thriving communities through local food. Our vision is to achieve regional food security.
Our programs include: organic urban agricultural production, school gardens, community supported agriculture, FARMacy, the Public Market, cooking classes, and Food Justice Immersions.
The organization emphasizes an innovative, agricultural approach to poverty and encourages independence among its staff. Now completing its fifth season, GOV has demonstrated a successful track record, achieved national notoriety, and proven itself a positive change agent in the redevelopment of rust-belt Appalachia.
