ReThink Media

ReThink Media is a unique nonprofit media shop dedicated exclusively to building the communications and messaging capacity of non-profit think tanks, advocacy organizations, experts and allies working toward a more constructive U.S. foreign policy, in support of human and civil rights, and to strengthen our democracy. The organizations we serve represent the foremost leaders, thinkers and organizers in the fields of disarmament, conflict prevention, peace and security, human and civil rights, the protection of voting rights, and in redressing the undue special interest influence in politics and the judiciary.

We provide the groups and collaboratives we serve with shared access to public opinion research, in-depth news coverage and digital media analysis, and message development resources, specific to each of the above issues areas. We provide shared access to professional media and communications tools, reporter intel, and hands-on training in critical media and strategic communications skills to enhance their presentation to the media and to improve collaboration and coordination.

Since our founding in 2008 we have played a central role in multi-organizational efforts to reduce Pentagon spending; challenge discriminatory policies and prejudice directed against Muslim, Arab and South Asian Americans; ratify the START nuclear arms treaty; challenge the unlawful treatment of terror suspects and detainees; publicize the warrantless surveillance of citizens; and push for a negotiated outcome to the stand-off with Iran. Recently, we have expanded our brief and are working with the nation's leading institutions and experts to reduce the corrosive influence of money in politics and to ensure fair courts, and are at the heart of coordinating efforts around McCutcheon v FEC.

As a team, our work is driven by our own backgrounds as communicators and issue advocates, and a passion for the issues we work on. We believe that the stronger and more strategic we are as a movement, and the tighter our collaboration, the more likely we are to win real victories.
