About Us
CAIR-TX is a chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), America’s largest Muslims civil liberties group with chapters nationwide. Our Houston office is one of three offices in Texas, the others being located in San Antonio and Dallas-Fort Worth. CAIR's national headquarters is located on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.
The chapter is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization which formed in Houston in December 2002. As a leading voice for the Houston Muslim community, we strive to maintain the highest ethical standards in all of our endeavors.
CAIR’s mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
CAIR’s vision is to be a leading advocate for justice and mutual understanding.
