  • About Us

Over the past fifty years, Key Recovery has helped individuals develop healthy behaviors to establish a sustainable recovery.

We believe substance abuse impacts the full family. At Key Recovery we provide treatment to individuals and their children, up to the age of 12.

In this supportive and therapeutic environment, Key Recovery and Life Skills Center helps individuals develop healthy behaviors necessary to establish a successful and sustainable recovery.

Key Recovery also offers residents an opportunity to gain additional life and work skills through an on-the-job work training program with Seadrunar Recycling. Participation provides work experience; increasing their chances for successful employment after treatment.

Founded in 1968 by Nan Busby, Key Recovery and Life Skills Center (formerly known as Seadrunar) was the first residential drug and alcohol treatment center for substance abuse disorder in the Puget Sound region.

Nan Busby, a recovering addict herself, was a visionary and strong advocate for individuals with substance use disorders of all walks of life. She knew that for clients to be successful, they needed a long-term housing recovery program that offered life skills and on-the-job training for individuals.

To this day, this is the focus and guiding principles of Key Recovery and Life Skills Center. We are committed to providing a safe space for individuals with substance use disorders to heal, and a supportive community to help them focus and modify negative behaviors and habits.

We also believe that work creates purpose. We provide clients an opportunity to participate in an on-the-job work training program.

We believe that substance disorders impact not simply individuals, but families as well. We are the only recovery center in the Puget Sound to provides a residential treatment center for individuals and their children up to the age of 12. At Key Recovery and Life Skills Center, we believe that families heal better together.
