  • About Us

Formed in 1951 by the explorer and archaeologist, Frans Blom and his wife, the photographer and conservationist, Gertrudy Dudy Blom, Na Bolom has a mission to conserve, develop and promote the culture and natural resources of Chiapas. Since its founding, Na Bolom has worked on protecting the environment and natural resources of the Lacandon jungle; conserving and disseminating the Lacandon cultural heritage; and promoting the personal and economic development of indigenous groups, particularly the Lacandon people, one of the most isolated and culturally conservative of Mexico’s native indigenous groups.
