Syracuse United Neighbors

  • About Us

Syracuse United Neighbors (SUN) is a grassroots community organization founded in 1977. Our members are residents of the south and west sides of Syracuse, N.Y. SUN issues include safe and affordable housing, crime-free streets and increased bank investment in our community.

Our small full-time staff organizes residents to fight for their neighborhoods--get rid of vacant houses, outwit slumlords and reduce drug crime and violence.

SUN organizers recruit new members, provide leadership training, help research and write studies and plan strategy for issue campaigns.
