The Augustinian Province of St. Thomas of Villanova, one of four North American Provinces, is comprised of 140 friars on the east coast of the United States and Japan. The Province serves the Church in the ministry of education, in parishes, preaching, social works, and other areas where the talents and preparation of its members contribute to the proclamation of the Gospel and the needs of society. The Province founded and presently sponsors four schools--Villanova University, Merrimack College, St. Augustine Prep and Malvern Prep as well as nine parishes in the U.S. and three in Japan. As a Mendicant Order, the friars depend upon the generosity of benefactors to meet many of their needs. The Augustinian Fund was established 15 years ago to create a reliable source of annual revenue to support the Province's priority needs including the care of the elderly and infirm friars, the education and training of future Augustinians and the friars' ministries that support the poor and marginalized.
