    We underestimate how life-changing and society-changing are schools. I am a middle school teacher running for the Mountain View Whisman School School Board, and I am looking for interns who believe schools can be much more than they often are. They can be:

    places to learn to love diversity and feel safe

    places to meet your full potential regardless of race or income

    places to learn how to be citizen of this nation and the world

    places to use their already powerful skills to make a difference

    The would be a mix of virtual and community engagement. This is not your typical political internship, we won't be phonebanking or canvassing. Rather, we'll be collecting stories from families on their dreams and concerns for their schools and their children. Your role will be similar to oral historians and web documentarians.
