  • About Us

Interested in historic preservation, open space and the natural world? If so, we invite you to join the Friends of Princeton Nursery Lands (FPNL).

FPNL is dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the historic, horticultural and natural resources of the former Princeton Nurseries Kingston Site in Kingston, NJ, for the education and enjoyment of the public.

Princeton Nurseries was one of the largest wholesale tree nurseries in the US. The core of nursery (and several historic buildings) have now been preserved as open space. It is a fabulous place to hike, bird, and study the natural world.

The property is being restored, and trail networks and signage are being developed to help interpret this historic resource.

FPNL (www.fpnl.org) is a friends group for the property. We seek help from anyone who is interested in supporting our goals, which include the following.

o Restoration of historic buildings and landscape at the Princeton Nurseries Kingston Site

o Listing of the site on the State and National Historic Registers

    o Development of educational/interpretive facilities

o Establishment of paths, and connections to other historic and natural resources

o Preparation of interpretive literature, maps, and guides

o Organizing interpretive and educational walks, talks and programs

o Working with other organizations to achieve common goals

o Obtaining funding to achieve the above goals.
