United Voices of Literacy, Inc. (UVOLI)

The mission of United Voices of Literacy is to empower individuals through literacy education. We create community collaborations to help individuals find their unique voices, providing them with the tools to lead, starting with their ability to read. We provide “Readers are Leaders,” an out-of-school intensive tutoring program aimed to improve 3rd - 7th grade student reading and comprehension using the art of dramatic reading based on movies and notable persons. Our reading sessions are all held over zoom and attracts volunteers nationwide along with the actors who coach our students to prepare for dramatic reading performances.

Our program provides the opportunity for creative individuals to share their love of a story with a student. Working with a student to understand the context of their reading passage, the personality of the character and learn to dramatically perform their reading before an audience, allows you to go along the journey with the student into the selected story.
