  • About Us

Concepts of Independence, Inc. is a non-profit consumer directed personal assistant program. Unlike a traditional home care program, Concepts enables disabled consumers to live independently and to manage their own care plan by allowing them to recruit, train, schedule and supervise the Personal Assistants of their choice. Since our inception in 1980, we have saved the Federal, State and City governments millions of Medicaid dollars each year by providing the only viable alternative to traditional home care service. We currently provide services to more than 1,500 consumers in the five boroughs of New York City, Nassau, Westchester, Schenectady, Saratoga, Albany and Clinton Counties.
