  • About Us

The Greenlining Institute works towards a future where communities of color can build wealth, live in healthy places filled with economic opportunity, and are ready to meet the challenges posed by climate change.

Community drives every aspect of our work. We work closely with communities of color to understand the racist barriers to economic opportunity and combat the injustices that persist by demanding accountability from the public and private sectors. We work in partnership with community-based organizations to foster consensus-building that produces long-term change and success.

Instead of only fighting the restrictions of redlining, we open opportunities for Greenlining – building an abundant future that proactively brings investments and opportunities into our communities.

Founded in 1993, our organization has a history deeply rooted in activism and action. We focus on four strategic areas: Economic equity, climate equity, transformative communities, and our Leadership Academy.
