About Us
Chickenshed NYC is the American cousin of London’s Chickenshed Theatre Company, which
for more than 45 years has pioneered inclusive theater by and for children of all abilities and
backgrounds. Chickenshed NYC is built on the notion of inclusive participation, with the belief
that everyone can contribute their ideas and gifts regardless of ability, race, circumstance, or
background.
We create theatre for all ages and run successful membership programs and outreach projects
throughout the year. Our core programs include Tales from the Shed performances for children
ages 0-5, and Chickenshed Players, inclusive theatre classes and programs for young people
ages 6-13+. Our programming will occur online and in-person, depending upon the public
health situation.
