Safer Together partners with youth-serving organizations to co-create and implement COVID-19 testing programs to ensure that all children, youth, staff and their families feel safe and confident in participating in youth programs. We offer the following services to our partners:
- Consulting services on implementation of regulatory-compliant testing program
- Free COVID-19 rapid antigen and PCR test kits for an agreed-upon number of youth, staff and volunteers participating in mutually agreed upon programs and sites
- Four types of COVID-19 testing, as below.
- Asymptomatic screening of individuals with rapid antigen tests
- Symptomatic testing of individuals with rapid antigen tests (e.g. when an individual presents with cold-like symptoms, to rule out COVID-19 infection)
- Cohort testing after an exposure event or single positive test result, including confirmatory PCR tests and rapid antigen tests
- Return-to-site testing, confirming an individual is not infectious after a COVID-19 quarantine
- Online reporting and documentation through ST’s Primary Health software license
- A CLIA-waived laboratory, which allows ST to offer medical testing that is approved as CLIA-waived under the supervision of ST’s prescribing doctor.
- Training the staff and volunteers of our partners to implement testing
- Design and implementation of wraparound service plans to support youth and staff who might test positive for Covid-19, co-developed with each partner to best meet the needs of each partner’s constituency. These post-testing services might address issues related to:
- Food insecurity
- Temporary quarantine or housing challenges
- Short-term economic instability
- Health care access
- Mental health support
