    Founded in 1950, The National Council of Churches is a council of 37 Protestant, Anglican, orthodox, Evangelical, historic African American and Living Peace churches. The NCC provides a forum for the churhces to study together the issues that divide them, and to participate in many joint programs of education, advocacy, and service that witness to their unity in Jesus Christ.
